RE-Discovered, a centenary celebration show of paintings and drawings by RICHARD EURICH OBE RA (1903 - 1992)

The First Gallery, Southampton

From the introduction to the catalogue by Margery Clarke, Director of The First Gallery and Curator of RE-Discovered, 7 March 2003:

"Eurich had a long life, he was versatile and his work is wide-ranging. Towards the end of his life, when I knew him, he was sifting the wisdom he had amassed. His paintings, from being intricate and full of incident, grew spacious and unpeopled, sometimes almost abstract, gathering together the essence not just of human existence but of something beyond."
