One of the drawings in RE's first solo show, at the Goupil Gallery in London in 1929. Catalogue no. 6. The work is recorded as sold in Richard's sales diary, but the buyer is not noted. Since it was gifted by Sir Michael Sadler to The Cooper Gallery in 1933, we can probably assume that he was the collector who bought it. We do know from the sales diary that Sadler aquired several other drawings from the same exhibition - The Three Ages, A Fairy Tale, Clowns by the Sea, Lady with a Lute and The Family.
