This image is from a photograph found in an album kept by RE to record his work. We believe it shows one of the drawings in his first one man show at the Goupil Gallery in 1929, "Clowns by the Sea", catalogue no.15. The Goupil link below takes you to more information about the show and to a full list of titles from the catalogue.

- REP

This work was possibly shown at the New English Art Club summer show in 1929, a few months before the solo exhibition at the Goupil Gallery in December. The NEAC catalogue lists two Eurich's, "The Great Viol" and "Clowns". We can probably safely assume that "The Great Viol" is the same one as in the Goupil catalogue, but "Clowns" could refer to either "Clowns at Practice (aka "In the Circus") or "Clowns by the Sea", both in the Goupil show, or to neither of them.

- REP-PC

This is one of six Eurichs, that we know of, bought by Sir Michael Sadler for his collection.
