- REP-PBI remember when a child, as we drove along in the car, being told to look out for the White Horse. When I did see it, I could hardly believe it, the landscape being so utterly changed by is presence. To me this painting captures that same feeling, and the sense of scale, emphasised by the straw bales, so dwarfed in spite of their ‘megalith’ postures, brings back that sense of wonder.
