- REP / PBAs far as I can tell from this little photo, this is an intriguing picture. The boathouse appears in some other Lepe Beach paintings and is quite a landmark. I never remember seeing figures lined up in front of it like that as if about to swim. It was always a bit of private land. The canoe on the left looks like a possible memory of my brother Crispin who had died the year before from a brain tumour . . . he had built his own sea-going canoe.
