Spring, New Forest
1935
- REPThe subject is Vivien Cutting's caravan, on the plot now known as Robin's Bush, as seen from the garden of Appletreewick, Richard's house in Dibden Purlieu on the edge of The New Forest in Hampshire. The present collector (2017) always admired the painting in VC's later house in Newtown, Montgomery. He and a friend stayed in the caravan, on another site in Dibden Purlieu, while revising for Cambridge exams. [Edited version of the inscription written by the present (2017) owner on the back of the painting]
