- REP / PBThe title is slightly confusing. It means that this a sweeping view of the Isle of Wight in the distance seen as from some imaginary high point in the New Forest (such as perhaps Peterson’s Tower at Sway). The eye progresses from the heavy peaty soil and rich colours of the Forest towards the lighter green fields near Lymington and then across the blue ribbon that is the Solent to the ethereal Island seemingly floating on the water.
