- REP / PBI remember seeing this on my father’s easel in the studio and thinking how wonderful it was. I was impressed by the variety of tones and textures across the “empty” field… which is the majority of the picture. Looking at it now, I am even more struck by the lovely liveliness of the sky which is absolutely necessary to contrast with and emphasise the field.
