Bathers at Lepe

This looks like Lepe Beach on a fairly chilly day. The pink figures in the foreground look more naked than the people already paddling in the retreating sea. But for Dad the needs of the composition constitute the strongest logic and he must have decided that those figures were needed in order to enliven the expanse of muddy low-tide beach. They may be metal-detectorists or bait-diggers but whoever they are, they push the other people back in the picture space in a satisfactory way.
