'The Ship Inn' is a magnificent and huge picture . . . Every square inch of it has something interesting to look at - and there must be several 1000s of square inches of it!

- quote from a collector on seeing The Ship Inn at Walker

20th January: Went into Southampton to pay in a cheque of £100 from Liverpool, painting of Weymouth harbour 51.5 x 34 [in].

- 1936 RE Diary

'The Blue Barge, Weymouth' (1934) is sometimes confused with this work because on a quick view they look similar.

- REP / PC

References to "The Ship Inn, Weymouth" are confusing. The 1935 painting on this page can get mixed up with The Return (1948) aka 'The Ship Inn, Weymouth' and The Ship Inn, Weymouth (1932).
