"Surprisingly, many sailing pilchard boats were sawn in half, lengthened, and raised to make them into motor boats. These included the Bonnie Lass P2 306, ..., the Boy George PZ 576 of Porthleven and the Nazarene SS114 and Ocean Gift SS60 of St Ives.

- British Motor Fishing Vessels By John McWilliams

"PZ 576 Boy George (Gary). Netter, 11.95m. Porthleven boat, owned by Pearce, fish merchant. Bought by Belgian fishermen during the war. On one occasion they shot away the top of their mast while defending themselves against German air attack "
