Low Tide, Lyme Regis

We are puzzled by the conflicting details associated with this painting. The subject is clearly the harbour at Lyme Regis in Dorset. Bridgeman Images hold an image of it in their catalogue titled "Low Tide, Lyme Regis". However, there are two items on the back of the painting which contradict all of the above. There is a Redfern Gallery label on the frame which names the work as "Low-tide, Weymouth", and an inscription on the stretcher, not in RE's handwriting, which says, "Low tide at Weymouth by Richard Eurich No 18". The size of a painting titled "Low tide at Weymouth" auctioned by Phillips in 1997 exactly matches the size of the painting listed by Bridgeman - "Low Tide, Lyme Regis". The dates of both paintings are the same. For now, we are going to merge the Weymouth and the Lyme Regis details we have found, ie. Redfern exhibition dates for the Lyme Regis version - 1937 and 1938 and for the Weymouth version 1943. We still do not know if there is a painting of Weymouth harbour at low tide.
