Lepe Beach and The Solent
The Art of Richard Eurich
A late painting, probably from Lepe Beach on the Solent. This little picture has a great sense of scale, and shows my father's daring approach to paint, some of the surface scratched away and stumbled, very subtle and alive. He loved the sea and ships, and in his later years used to observe beach scenes like this, close to home, watching people (and their dogs) wandering on the shore.- CM, RE's daughter ( from the letter of authenticity)
