- REP-PCThe purchaser made the following note on the Fine Art Society label verso: "Bought as a result of a visit to the artist and wife at their cottage in DIBDEN PURLIEU in the NEW FOREST. This picture had just been painted. We had competed in Cowes week and could have been in the picture!! March 1988"
The newspaper cutting on the back reads: "Throughout the exhibition I kept coming upon small landscapes I particularly liked, and, when I consulted my catalogue, discovered that they were all by Richard Eurich, a mixture of craftsman and magician who simply cannot paint a dull picture, whether he shows holiday-makers on a beach frantically scrambling to pick up their things before a storm bursts upon them, all lit up by the queasy light of the black cloud, or a single sail on a grey white horizon, as simple and effective as a Whistler. He is a lovely artist."
